Frontier Ranch 12-Month Internship

Frontier Ranch's intern program is a discipleship program that combines the real-life elements of work at a Young Life property with Bible studies, worship, nurturing, and the support of a Christian community.  Running from August 29, 2007-August 31, 2008, this program is designed for single young adults who are deeply committed to Christ and desire to join our property staff in providing an environment where volunteers and campers can experience Christ.

Our Goal for the year is for people to grow in an intimate, abiding relationship with Jesus Christ, work hard to support the ministry at Frontier Ranch, and gain a solid understanding of Young Life and Young Life Property Staff.

As an employee of Young Life you will be provided with medical, dental and vision benefits.  You will also be accountable to raise a portion of your salary.

What Are Past and Present Interns Saying?

A quote from a current intern...
"From the second we got here we've been included in whatever is going on around camp.  The full-time staff has been great at making us feel at home.  The experience has given me a great look at how a property is run.  Each department has its own job and for the camp to work right, everyone has to do his or her part.  There is no room for selfishness.  If I'm thinking only about myself, then I can't get my job done because it involves so many other people.  I have spent a good amount of time with full-time staff just enjoying their wisdom in different areas.  Each person brings something different to the table and I'm hoping to dig into those things throughout the year.  Overall, my internship has been so much more than I expected.  I'm learning a ton about God's will in my life and how He calls us to abide in Him.  My role is not to 'do' things for God, but to present to him the things that are already in my life.  I think I've spent most of my years as a believer trying to figure out what God's will for my life is and the whole time it has been the same...abide."

"Looking back at my time at Frontier, as an intern, all I can truly say is that I was blessed beyond all possible belief!  My year was full of momentous experiences, hard struggles, glorious memories, and the fact that the Lord met me where I was in life!  I definitely gained perspective on what it means to trust wholly in the Lord, and to deny myself and serve out of that!"

"Looking back on my internship experience I realize that it has molded me into who I am now, because I allowed the Lord to break me."

"I learned to choose joy daily, this being one of the biggest things that I learned.  You are in a place where some of the jobs you will be doing are not always glamourous and it is easy to let Satan get his foothold in that.  But being able to wake up and choose Christ and joy daily is a blessing beyond belief."

"The Lord has used the year-long discipleship program at Frontier to totally transform my life and my understanding of true servant-heartedness.  Over the course of the past 12 months, the combined work element with the discipleship element of the program, have led me to a more ultimate understanding of the grace, mercy, and unconditional love our heavenly father has for us.  There's no doubt, that if you choose to present your whole self, with an open and willing heart and a servant attitude, the Lord will bless you abundantly, and be glorified through your time here."

Taking advantage of the adventure around Buena Vista is definitely a plus!  Here interns are peaking the nearby 14,197 foot Mount Princeton.

In the Spring, some interns may have the opportunity to go on a mission trip to "Pico Escondido"...the Young Life camp in the Dominican Republic.  There's lots of work, but lots of play as well!

Winter activities are a blast in Colorado.  Here's a bit of Cross Country Skiing...

Community is a huge part of being an intern at Frontier Ranch.  Here a property staff "mom" hosts a Pumpkin Carving Competition.
