Pouring the footings

August 29, 2006

Over the last week, contractors have poured 70 cubic yards of concrete into the dining hall site to prepare the foundation. The footings (what the building sits on) are nearly finished, and next week we hope to begin pouring for some of the walls.

The contractors for the foundation work, shown here leveling poured concrete, are the same contractors that poured the foundation for the club room in 1994.

Rebar helps keep the forms in place and solidify the concrete.
