Corey McGrail - S&F Superintendent and Project Manager

Corey McGrail, and wife Jessica along with their kids; Jackson, Alyssa, Eli, Emily and Parks, moved from northern Virginia in 2006 to join the Lake Champion team. He is the site and facilities superintendent as well as the project manager all major projects in the Eastern Division. Corey worked at Pinnacle Point and Sharptop Cove before coming to Lake Champion.

Rich Watts - Property Superintendent

If there is something that needs to be fixed or repaired, you call Rich. Rich and his wife Bonnie,and their four kids; Richard, Dayelle, Christina and Matthew live locally in Barryville, New York. Rich is a jack of all trades and an all around handy-man that has extensive knowledge in plumbing, electrical and carpentry work. For over fourteen years he has been serving at Lake Champion.

Shawn Saffran - Skilled Craftsman

Shawn has the creative eye and the carpentry skills needed to create one of a kind projects that help set Lake Champion apart from other camps. He has worked at multiple Young Life camps over the past decade including Pinnacle Point, Sharptop Cove and Windy Gap.

Emilio Mercado - Maintenance Technician

Originally from Nicaragua, Emilio and his wife Ann and daughter Kat moved to New York from Miami, Florida. No task is too small or to big for Emilio as he tackles the long list of maintenance needs that arise on a daily basis.

David Daugherty - Maintenance Technician

Recently moving from Spring Valley Ohio, David is the newest addition to our team. David has been involved with YL as a club kid, camper and campaigner. He served on summer staff at Rockbridge in 2007 and here at Champion in 2008. David will fit in just fine with the team, as he enjoys fishing, hiking, biking and simply hanging out.

Simon Vilain - Maintenance Technician

Simon joined our team in May as a yearlong volunteer from Belgium. Simon is working in the maintenance department for a year to learn Younglife camping and Younglife in America. He brings a lot to the team and is a valuable member.
