Preparing for Camp

Weather

Lost Canyon has a wide range of climate conditions. Expect temperatures to be in the mid 80's during the summer, the 60’s during the spring and fall, and the teens during the winter. Evenings in northern Arizona are cool, so come prepared. Check the current forecast for Williams, Ariz. for the most accurate information.

What to Bring
  • Water bottle - Lost Canyon is at 7,000 feet elevation, and you may get dehydrated very quickly. If you're getting a headache, you're probably dehydrated.
  • Proper clothing – Bring warm clothing and a rain jacket anytime. Closed-toe shoes are required for some activities. It never hurts to bring a pair of clothes and shoes that can get messy. During the summer, don’t forget a swimsuit, sunscreen, and a beach towel!
  • Toiletries – Basic toiletries can be purchased at the camp store if forgotten.
  • Medications – Each guest group is required to bring a medical person to Lost Canyon to provide for the needs of the campers. This person will be happy to help you with any special needs or medications. Please notify the trip leader in advance. Lost Canyon also has an EMT-B on the property.
  • Special dietary needs – Our friendly Food Service staff is happy to work with you to meet any specific dietary needs. Please feel free to call them or your trip leader.
  • Money – The camp store has T-shirts, books and other gifts. There is also a snack bar that will be open throughout the day.
  • Bedding – Lost Canyon provides linens, blankets, pillows and towels for all our guests. Sleeping bags are not necessary!
