Over 100 of Malibu’s closest friends gathered on June 18 and 19, 2005 to celebrate the completion of the hydro project. Fireworks resounding in the inlet were a grand representation of the huge milestone that had been reached. With the completion of the hydro project, Malibu at last has an energy supply equal to the task at hand. The diesel generators have been silenced, and there is ample power for all buildings at camp, including enough to heat the swimming pool for the first time in Malibu history.
 
Most importantly, we now have the energy infrastructure in place to support the remaining vital improvements in the Malibu Master Plan. These include the new kitchen and dining room expansion (completed May 2006), new assignment team building, new work crew building, new club building and all dorm renovations and expansions.
