Although it has served us well, the current kitchen is deteriorating due to age, use and water damage; also, it is far too small to serve the number of guests we have every week. Expanding and upgrading the kitchen from 1,100 square feet to 2,500 square feet will enable kitchen staff to work more efficiently and safely as they uphold the Malibu reputation of providing our guests delicious meals. Malibu’s existing dining room is rated for only 246 people, but counting campers, leaders, adult guests, summer staff, doctors and their families and assignment teams, we sometimes serve up to 500 people at each meal. Expanding the dining room by 2,300 square feet will bring the dining hall up to the highest Young Life standards and ensure that all the guests can eat together, while enjoying more comfortable seating and one of the most spectacular views in all of Young Life.
