This dorm accommodates about 150 young ladies and their leaders each week of the summer. It is another one of the original buildings constructed in the mid 1940’s and has been under serving these campers for years.  Currently there is only one outlet in most of the cabins and the bathrooms are inadequate. 

 

There is little insulation in this building and no heat. Once the work crew boys are moved to the new Work Staff building and the assignment team no longer needs Nootka 1 and 1 ½ we will be able to incorporate over 1,100 additional square feet into this important remodel.  Every cabin will be completely reconditioned with proper bathrooms (much like these in Foc'sle), electrical, insulation and heat. This is an important project not only to serve these young women well during the summer months but to enable us to open the off season for Young Life camps and outside groups.
