Non-Young Life groups reserving the Entire Camp (Main Camp and Ballena Valley Lodge): Oakbridge can accommodate up to 177.  We can also accommodate up to 213 by using all the pull-out beds (which sleep two per bed) - however this is not recommended as the comfort and quality level in the dorms, dining room and meeting room is drastically reduced. 

Non-Young Life groups reserving only the Main Camp:  Oakbridge can comfortably host 121 or 157 using all the pull-out beds (which sleep two per bed).

Non-Young Life groups reserving only the Ballena Valley Lodge:  Oakbridge can comfortably host 24 in the upstairs deluxe accommodations and 32 downstairs in the standard accommodations making a total of 56 in the Ballena Valley Lodge.

Young Life groups reserving the Entire Camp:  Oakbridge can accommodate up to 193. We can also accommodate up to 229 using all the pull-outs (which sleep two per bed) however this is not recommended as the comfort and quality level in the dorms, dining room and meeting room is drastically reduced. 

Young Life groups reserving only the Main Camp: Oakbridge can comfortably accommodate 137. We can also accommodate up to 173 using all the pull-outs (which sleep two per bed).

Young Life groups reserving only the Ballena Valley Lodge: Oakbridge can comfortably host 24 in the upstairs deluxe accommodations and 32 downstairs in the standard accommodations making a total of 56 in the Ballena Valley Lodge.

For weekend retreats, Oakbridge requires a minimum of 140 people to have exclusive use of the camp.  However, when we are not able to book an exclusive use group, we will book two groups during the same weekend. One group with a minimum of 100 to stay in the Main Camp and another smaller group with a minimum of 40 to stay in the Ballena Valley Lodge.   The group of 100 will have the main meeting room and the smaller group of 40 will have their own private meeting space within the living room of the Ballena Valley Lodge.

For Mid-week retreats, Oakbridge only requires a minimum of 40 for the Main Camp and a minimum of 40 for the Ballena Valley Lodge.

We will assist you in coordinating meal times, use of meeting space and housing arrangements.

No. Oakbridge operates a full service dining hall and is regulated by the San Diego Health Department.   However, if you are staying in the Ballena Valley Lodge you are more than welcome to prepare snacks in the fully equipped kitchen.

WEEKEND Non-Young Life groups (churches, schools, businesses):

WORK CREW DUTY

For most weekends, Oakbridge is able to recruit a group of volunteer work crew (KP duty) kids to serve our guests in the dining room. However, there may be an occasional weekend where we are not able to fill the KP duty needs and so we must ask the guest group to help with either of the following:
• Guest group provide 8-12 of their own designated folks for work crew.  This is a super opportunity for the youth director to bring kids to teach them that serving others can be a joyful and fulfilling experience. We truly do our best to make it a fun yet productive time for those on work crew.  

OR

• Provide 8-12 people to come into the dining room 20 minutes before each meal to set the tables.
• One person per table will then be responsible for serving their table.
• After the meal, everyone will be responsible for bringing their dirty dishes to the bussing station and cleaning off their table. 
• 2 of the 8-12 people who set for the meal will also be responsible for vacuuming the dining room after the meal.

MEDICAL PERSONNEL

• The guest group is expected to provide a doctor, nurse, or EMT for the length of the camp.  This person and their family are not charged for their stay.  Oakbridge reserves the right to charge the guest group if no doctor, nurse or EMT is provided.

MID-WEEK Non-Young Life groups (churches, schools, businesses):

WEEKEND and MIDWEEK Young Life Groups:

WORK CREW

KITCHEN/DINING ROOM: Young Life properties require a Work Crew for service in the kitchen and dining room and other areas. Please bring a ratio of one work crew person for every 10 guests up to a maximum of 16, including at least two work crew supervisors.  Work crew members need to be the same people for the entire stay; please do not rotate the work crew.

SNACK BAR – Two work crew members will also be needed for the snack bar during Saturday free time (4 hours). 

MEDICAL PERSONNEL - A Doctor, PA, Nurse and/or EMT will be provided by the group. The camp fee is waived for all of the above.

HOUSEKEEPING – The entire Work Crew staff will stay after the guest group leaves to assist in cabin clean-up. 

Oakbridge provides sheets, blankets, pillows and towels for those staying upstairs in the Ballena Valley Lodge.

All guests staying downstairs Ballena and the Main Camp will need to bring their own bed rolls (sleeping bag or linens, towels and pillow).
