Guide House

The Old

The Guide House has long been recognized as a significant concern due to an overall lack of quality, lack of bedrooms, and a too small common area which includes the kitchen and great room.

Current Conditions:

12 assigned staff and their families in 11 bedrooms
Total living space 3600 square feet.

The New

2 new bedrooms and bathrooms
Larger kitchen
New toddler room/dining room
Larger greatroom with covered decks
Complete renovation
Improved aesthetics

Fundraising Update

Almost a million dollars has been given with $200K remaining and needed by year end. Please consider helping us to finish the Guide House project.

Latest Update

April 2012 - Starting to get down to the end: Greatroom , Greatroom 2, Kitchen, Stairway.

March 2012 - The great room, stairway and kitchen continue to progress.

2/1/12 - Check out the progress: view from the front. Greatroom: outside, inside. Upstairs: Hallway, bedroom with windowseat. Downstairs new bedroom.

Jan 2012 - We begin the year with the arrival of the crane, the new great room trusses and the faming of the roof

12/13/11- New windows start to go in.

11/30/11- The Foundation Contnues to rise.

11/17/11- Foundation work, Work Continues

11/7/11- 2nd floor window seat

10/31/11- Blasting: New greatroom foundation

10/24/11 - Downstairs: opening up the old great room. Picture 1. Picture 2. Picture 3

10/17/11 - The chimney comes down, and the porch comes off.

10/12/11- upstairs: taking it down to the studs.

10/7/11- The wall board comes down, and the carpet comes up.

10/3/11 - Construction has begun

9/30/11 - Packing up and moving out all of the furnature
