Beams, beams, beams

After the support columns are in place the horizontal beams are installed. Wooden braces are attached to the uprights to help support the load as more beams are attached and set in place.

Workers use heavy duty cable and cranks to make sure that the massive beams are level and stationary as they add more beams to the kitchen area.

The crane is used to hoist the rafters and gently place them in the correct location. As the beams are supported by the crane workers climb up the supports with ladders and bolt the beams in place.

Bolted to each end of the support columns and the beams are steel plates that are used to connect the beams and columns togethor. These brackets and plates are premade and drilled to fit perfectly for a flawless assembly.

In only 4 days the main part of the kitchen area has columns and beams set. But as you can see there is much more of the Bear Creek Inn still to be fitted with the beautiful wooden supports and beams.
