We are always looking for volunteers to serve with us at the Washington Family Ranch.  Currently, there are some specific needs we are hoping to fill.  The descriptions listed below vary from year round to seasonal needs.  A single volunteer will most likely work on several of the areas listed below.  Some are designed for a single year round volunteer.  Please contact Lance Wagner by e-mail or at (541) 489-3100 for more information about the job descriptions.

 

Weed Abatement: Spraying weeds in spring and fall using a combination of a 4-wheeler and hand sprayer.

Pest/Rodent Control: Checking rodent bait boxes and spraying for spiders periodically throughout year.

 

Septic Service: Service camp septic tanks. Also service 3 summer portable toilets and a grease trap once a week during summer months. This is a great opportunity to practice humility and service!

 

Road Maintenance: Assist road crew with road patching and new parking lot paving. This may be driving a roller, operating a road sweeper, or a myriad of other tasks that go along with road work. No previous road work experience needed although you will need to be able to tolerate the heat and some hard work.

 

Painting: Assist our paint crew in painting the exterior of some of our buildings. Pressure washing, spraying, masking and various other tasks involved with this one. No previous painting experience needed.

 

Carpenter/Handyman: We are looking for someone with lots of experience when it comes to framing and finish work. We undertake multiple carpentry type projects each year that range from general framing to cabinet and countertop fabrication and installation. If you fit the description then we can sure use your help!

 

HVAC/Electrical Technician: We are looking for someone with quite a bit of experience when it comes to troubleshooting and servicing all different types of control systems, motors, pumps, compressor units etc. We have some great techs on hand but they are overwhelmed at times with too much to do! Please consider coming to help if God has gifted you in this area.

 

Carpet Cleaning: Systematically clean all carpets in main camp buildings. We have a commercial cleaning van that is easy to use. No previous experience needed just the ability to work hard.

 

Shop/Warehouse Steward: Organize, inventory, and stock shops and warehouses. We need someone with great organization skills and a natural bent to get rid of junk for this job!

 

Building Technician: We are looking for someone that has general handyman abilities to take maintenance ownership of some of our buildings. The thought here is that this person would take care of all the smaller everyday maintenance issues that come up for a typical building. We would actually assign you to the new Muddy Creek Lodge plus some other buildings on the west side of camp. You would learn those buildings inside and out. You would perform everyday fix-it type things plus you would learn how to service and maintain the systems that run those buildings. This position is one that would not interact with the rest of the maintenance department near as much as some of the other positions. Window Cleaning: We have hundreds of windows that we need cleaned each year. Maybe you love cleaning windows and would like to take this task on for us?
