Young Life Tanzania

Tanzania is known by many as the home of Mt. Kilimanjaro, the Serengeti, Zanzibar and the Swahili Coast. In this country of more than 30 million people, there are overwhelming challenges for young people: an un-official HIV infection rate of 25%; a high school enrollment rate of only 12%; an average per capita income of $260 per year. Young Life currently has three clubs in Dar es Salaam and three clubs in Arusha.

Young Life Tanzania Staff

We currently have five staff in Tanzania — Deodatus Kyara, Irene Mwasanga, Alexis Kwamy. Their goals for Young Life in Tanzania are to reach lost kids in as many high schools as possible, to reach street kids and orphans with HIV/AIDS and to clearly reflect Jesus to these kids through friendship, fun and His goodness.
