MILES FOR KIDS CAMPERSHIP OPPORTUNITY!
We are constantly reminded, throughout the year, of the impact made when our high school and junior high school friends have a Young Life or Wyldlife camping experience. As you may know, we don't SEND our teenage friends to camp, rather we GO WITH them. Months of relationship building often culminate at camp when kids respond to the love of Jesus. Their lives are changed forever.
So, you can imagine, that despite great expense involved in camp, we are always looking to take more kids to camp with our volunteers and staff. Our committment must include finding ways to reduce the cost of camp for our teenage friends. This school year, we are trying to raise $20,000- $30,000 to help assist kids in need in our community with camp costs alone.
A small group of us (composed of staff, volunteer leaders, and a board member) are running in marathons and half marathons (Columbus, Ohio and the Marine Corps Marathon) this October as a way to raise money for the Beaver County campership fund. Between four of us, we plan on running a combined 78.8 miles. Would you help us meet our goal of $5,000 by making an online gift to the MILES FOR KIDS effort?
Here's how it works.
1. Decide how much you want to sponsor us per mile and decide if you'll make the gift in advance (now) or upon completion of the races (the races are 10/19 and 10/26).
Here are some options
$1 per mile = $78.80
$1.50 per mile = $118.20 (1 kid to winter weekend)
$2.00 per mile = $157.60
$4.00 per mile = $236.40
$6.00 per mile = $472.80 (1 kid to summer camp)
$10 per mile = $788
2. Click on the green "give a one-time or monthly gift" link at right.
3. Fill out the donor information and under "gift designation" type in the TOTAL of your gift and in the sponsoring box type "MILES FOR KIDS".
4. Click on "campership" in the bubble below the "sponsoring" box.
5. Decide if you'll give directly from your bank or via credit card and enter the necessary information.
6. Pray for the runners and the kids who will discover the love of Jesus this year!
