What is Capernaum Club?

Club is the REALLY FUN part of Capernaum, the part that the kids OWN and enjoy the most.

Clubs starts at 6:30 and goes until 8:00, and are held at:

Tabernacle Church of Norfolk (Norfolk Club at the Lighthouse)
Mondays

Church of Messiah (Chesapeake Club)
Tuesdays

King's Grant Baptist Church (Virginia Beach Club)
Thursdays

Club is broken up into an opening social time where the kids and parents socialize with each other, eat pizza, dance and hang out. At 7:00 we start the skits and fun stuff for the night. Usually two or three skits and/or activities are done, mostly with involvement with the kids. Next comes Leader Hot Seat where the kids get to throw questions at a leader. Finally comes the Club Talk, where a leader tells a story about Jesus. We also have other things at the end, run on about Summer Camp and announcements where the kids can bring up their birthdays, grades, teams and other stuff they’re doing.

Club also provides a great opportunity for parents to meet and share with other parents.

Who Can Come?

People with disabilities at least 11 years old may come to Capernaum. Our target age range is 11-21, but since people with disabilities need fun stuff like this our end age range is somewhat open. If you have a disability of any kind, whether physical, emotional or mental, we invite you to come and hang out with us.

Older people (older than 21) with disabilities will be encouraged to help out younger kids if possible and consider the possibility of becoming a Leader Intern.
