Parents and Community

Even though Young Life is especially for kids, parents and other adults in the community are important to Young Life. Adults can support Young Life in a variety of ways - by becoming a volunteer leader or committee member, by attending a Young Life fund-raising event, by hosting Young Life or by simply telling others in the community about Young Life and its commitment to kids.

Keeping Kids Safe

An important part of our committment to kids is how we keep kids safe. Our staff and volunteer leaders know they are responsible for modeling lives of hope and integrity.Young Life's Human Resources department has developed missionwide policies and procedures to ensure that kids are protected when they are with Young Life staff and/or leaders as well as when kids are part of Young Life's sponsored activities.

Opportunities for Adults and Parents

Committee Member
Members of a Young Life committee are adults who are committed to providing every kid in their community the opportunity to hear about Jesus Christ in terms they can understand. Committee members pray for Young Life, promote the ministry in the community, care for the local staff and volunteer leaders, as well as ensure the financial health of the ministry.

Giving
Financial gifts are essential to Young Life because regional and area staff are responsible for raising 100 percent of their budgets, which mainly include staff salaries and benefits, administrative costs and programming costs. For more information on financially supporting Carroll County Young Life click here.

Volunteer Leader
Volunteer leaders are absolutely vital to the mission of Young Life. It is their involvement that allows lives to be changed. Young Life volunteer leaders participate in a full range of activities that help them build these significant relationships with kids. Each Young Life area has a different process for becoming a Young Life leader. If you are interested in volunteering for Young Life, contact the Young Life office nearest you, and the local staff will be able to help you learn more about how Young Life works in your community.

Support Roles for WyldLife
In WyldLife, our ministry to middle school kids, parents can be a tremendous help to the staff and volunteer leaders by serving on (or starting) a Parent Support Team. This team of adults helps organize, publicize and chaperone WyldLife events. In WyldLife, adults are also needed to mentor high school-age volunteer leaders who are ministering to the middle school kids
