Make a Difference Around the World

As a division of YoungLife International, YoungLife Expeditions helps to build bridges between folks here in the United States and YoungLife staff and volunteers all around the world. We connect teams of all ages and places here in the US to our friends connected with YoungLife in the far reaches of the earth.

Why Go?

"Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, 'Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?' And I said, 'Here am I. Send me."
Isaiah 6:8

We know that when folks meet and serve others around the globe, they wil be moved to respond and leverage their own lives and all God has given them so that countless more around the world might know the depth of God's love.

How Do We Do It?

  • By deploying short-term sevice teams from the US to countries around the world to serve in practical and beneficial ways alongside YoungLife staff and volunteers living and working in their communities.
  • By connecting individuals in the U.S. with International YoungLife internships.
God is already using our brothers and sister in nations long before we get there and long after we leave. Yet, in the wonderful economy of God, we have a role to play. We can carry resources to sustain what is already in place, and can offer resources and encouragement to being new construction and new ministry.

Jessica's Story

From Jessica Mendoza, YoungLife staff in California who led a group to serve in Ethiopia~

"I'm not sure if I can put into words what happened in Africa, but I know that it has forever left an imprint on my heart. Despite the circumstances many in Ethiopia live in, God has not forgotten His people there. I sat with leaders who love God so much and share His love with kids in Ethiopia. Their work goes unnoticed, but they do not care...they are not in it for fame, but because they have a vision for their country. That vision is to see Christ come to every person in Ethiopia.

The staff in Ethiopia taught me a new level of ministry; we need to begin to see that YL is not just club, but it is something that kids who have no hope or sense of love or understanding of God want to be involved with. I will forever do ministry differently because of my time in Ethiopia."
