Young Life ministries are rapidly growing on the continent of Africa. Young Life Expeditions/Africa offers opportunities for service teams to travel to this magical continent, serve new and established Young Life outreach efforts, work alongside local ministry staff and volunteers, get a firsthand glimpse of the Young Life ministry in an international setting and encounter Christ in a profound and powerful way that will leave you changed forever! Young Life Expeditions/Africa are typically 10-14 day short-term volunteer opportunities for groups and individuals to “serve and observe” in African countries where Young Life is either currently ministering or being developed. Groups will serve in one or more of the following ways:

-on community-based service projects that in some way support the local Young Life community

-as work crew for outreach camps run by local YL staff and volunteers

-in orphanages where local Young Life staff and volunteers have community relationships

-in helping with YL-style ministry training

Dates vary, but most opportunities are in either spring or summer. Fundraising options are available for most experiences and most costs are tax-deductible through Young Life*. Groups need to have a minimum of 10 members, including trip leaders. Maximum group size varies depending on host country and time of trip.

Safari opportunities exist in most countries, though safari costs* are not tax-deductible. We can help you plan and make safari reservations, but you must handle these costs separate from your service trip expenses.
