Summer Staff & All-Summer Internships
For more than ten years we have hosted a Summer Staff program in Latin America.  Hosting felds in 2009 will include the Dominican Republic and Costa Rica.  Additional fields may be added at a later date.   Participants must be in college or have completed high school a year ago. Summer Staff are typically based at the Young Life camp property or a similar facility, where they volunteer on various camp development projects and help facilitate the experience of our short-term missions teams. Summer Staff also serve on various projects in local communities, visit and observe local Young Life youth clubs, and spend several nights in the homes of local staff and volunteers for a cross-cultural "homestay" experience. Summer Staff are led by qualified supervisors who guide them through Bible and book study, group discussion and discipleship exercises. Summer Staff is a powerful opportunity to participate in and observe Young Life in an international, cross-cultural setting.  For anyone looking for a more intense, “immersion-type” experience, Summer Staff can be a life-changing challenge.
Summer Staff and Interns must cover costs of airfare on their own (or through a local church), but can fundraise for their per person “Field” costs through Young Life.

 

The Dominican Republic also offers a Spring Intern program, which is very similar to the Summer Staff experience except in the spring.

Note:  All Summer Staff/Spring Intern candidates must serve the entire session of listed dates.  You can schedule personal days for additional in-country travel, but Young Life can only be responsible for you during your scheduled dates.
