Transforming Love

Young Life is active in various high schools in the area. Essentially, its goal is to make a difference in kids' lives through Christ's love. While many students and schools have been impacted by YoungLife's presence here is a specific example:

Prior to the exposure of YoungLife, a now-graduated area girl was living a life immersed in parties, drugs and alcohol.  Her life style was not providing any meaning to her life and she felt alone.  She began to get involved with clubs and came to a Fall Weekend and Summer Camp.  While at camp she experiences Jesus' love in a real way and became committed to living her life for him.

The following year at Fall Weekend her friends and her sat in the lobby until four in the morning talking to a room of freshmen and sophomores about this life changing decision.  Some of whom became more open to this idea of a Jesus who loves them through the testimonies.

Now this girl and her friends are YoungLife volunteers all over the country spreading the love that was shown to them.

Our Vision

Life is hard.  And it is becoming increasingly harder for teenagers to deal with all of the pressures in their lives including family, friends and school.  Many high schoolers are hurt and lost and in need of someone to support them and to love them in the hard times.

As a group, YoungLife is devoted to meeting these needs and to provide a raft amide all of the rushing waters.

Right now, YL has a presence in four area high schools and is working hard to solidfy that impact on the present teens.  Staff and volunteer leaders give up their time and energy every week to love these kids and to to be there for them whenever it is needed.

In the fall of 2005, we met as an area to determine what the next steps would be to further the impact in Lake County.
