Some New Faces in Young Life Las Cruces
August 08, 2007

As you may or may not know, our beloved Mission Staffer, Lacey Kingston, has accepted an Internship with Young Life in Denver, starting in August. This left us with more ministry obligations than staffers, so it is my (and our) pleasure to announce that Miss Laura Brooks and Mr. Clay King will be joining as part-time Student Staffers here with Young Life Las Cruces. Laura is a long-time Cruces resident, getting ready to start her Junior year at NMSU. Her parents are Larry and Debbie Brooks of Cruces, and she has been involved with Young Life here in town for over 5 years, and has spent 2 summers at Discipleship Focus, a leadership and Discipling program in Tennessee.
Clay is a native of California and South Dakota, respectively. He moved to Cruces 9 months ago from Custer, SD, where he had been a Young Life Leader for several years. Clay just graduated from Thomas Edison University with a degree in English. Clay desires to pursue a position in full-time ministry in the future, and for now is everyone’s favorite barista at Starbucks on Valley Drive.
Both Laura and Clay will bring a fresh new approach to the mission of Young Life here in Las Cruces. Please keep them in your prayers as they begin this journey moving closer to God and leading kids there as they go. - Mike Iversen
