The fund was established by friends of Young Life Memphis to provide ongoing funding for the outreach to young people in our inner city and low inome areas. 

 

The fund began in 2002 when three businessmen from Houston, Texas, came to Memphis with a challenge of a substantial gift if we would match their dollars at a one to three ratio.  The DRIVE FOR HOPE was kicked off with Carey Folk as the chairman.  Two Memphis families made an initial commitment to get us started.  Since then many Young Life families have taken the challenge and have given to this fund.

 

The funds will almost always be used as a matching gift and challenge to the areas.
