Parents and Community

Even though Young Life is especially for kids, parents and other adults in the community are important to Young Life. Adults can support Young Life in a variety of ways - by becoming a volunteer leader or committee member, by attending a Young Life fund-raising event, by hosting Young Life or by simply telling others in the community about Young Life and its commitment to kids.

Keeping Kids Safe

An important part of our committment to kids is how we keep kids safe. Our staff and volunteer leaders know they are responsible for modeling lives of hope and integrity.Young Life's Human Resources department has developed missionwide policies and procedures to ensure that kids are protected when they are with Young Life staff and/or leaders as well as when kids are part of Young Life'sponsored activities.

There Are Lots of Ways Adults Can Help

1. Become a Volunteer Leader - Volunteer Young Life leaders work directly with high school students, building friendships with them and sharing their lives.

2. Become a Committee Member - The Adult Committee helps behind the scenes to ensure a high quality of ministry. The Committee's roles include publicity, prayer, fundraising, event planning, and much more. We are also hoping to form subcommittees around each of the main responsibilities of the committee.

3. Pray for Young Life - We believes that the work of Young Life begins and ends with prayer. We need dedicated people praying for us every day.

4. Support Young Life financially - It costs money to accomplish all of our goals. Your financial gifts help us meet our budget, which includes items such as camp scholarship, club and activity expenses, office supplies, leader training, and more. You can learn more about our budget and our needs by contacting our office.

5. Friends of Young Life - These volunteers help out with special projects like registration at the Golf Tournament or preparing meals for leaders. If you want to help, but can only give small chunks of time at once, this is a good place for you. Call or e-mail the office to let us know you want to be a "Friend of Young Life."

6. Volunteer Administrative Work - Help us do administrative work in the office. We can always use help with mailings, data entry, and other office tasks. Call or e-mail the office to let us know you want to help in this way
