What is Young Life?

Young Life doesn't start with a program. It starts with adults who are concerned enough about kids to go to them, on their turf and in their culture, building bridges of authentic friendship. These relationships don't happen overnight — they take time, patience, trust and consistency. If you have a few minutes, check out this video called "In The World Of Kids". It does a great job of describing Young Life from a Leader's perspective.

The 5 C's of Young Life

Contact Work - Young Life Leaders go where kids are. They are persistent in their pursuit to let kids know how much they care by simply showing up. We call this "Contact Work" and it is the foundation of Young Life ministry.

Club - Club is best described as a party with a purpose. It is a chance for Young Life Leaders to build upon the Contact Work they've done all week and spend time with a bigger group of kids. Club is an hour-long get together that includes games, music, & lots of laughter. At the end of each Club, one of the Leaders has the privilege of sharing a message about God's love.

Camp - Nothing compares to Young Life Camp. In fact, we promise kids it will be the "Best Week of Their Lives" or they get their money back. Each summer, Seminole County & East Orlando Young Life Leaders bring their high school friends to one of Young Life's World-Class Camps where they get to experience adventure & relationships and get to hear the greatest love story ever told. Campaigners - Young Life's original name dating back to the 1940s was "The Young Life Campaign". The word Campaigners has hung around all those years. It is simply Young Life's weekly meeting for kids who want to dig deeper into God's word. In addition, Leaders encourage Campaigners to get plugged into a local congregation, stressing that Young Life is not the church.

Committee - Young Life is making a difference in the lives of kids around the world because we are supported by adults who care about kids in their community. In each community, the local "committee" — comprised of parents, Young Life alumni and civic leaders — provides a foundation of financial, administrative and moral support for the local Young Life team.
