Connecting Kids And Christ
"...let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfector of faith." Hebrews 12:1-2
We are out there in the world of kids. While all kids are unique, they share significant common needs. They need someone to stand with them and accept them as they are. They need someone to walk with them, to "hang" with them as they make their way in life - someone who demonstrates God's love and faithfulness as they cafe choices and trials. And kids need someone to run with them - to share and encourage their desire for a fun, full and meaningful life. That's what Young Life provides.
Our Mission: Introducing adolescents to Jesus Christ and helping them grow in their faith.
Our Vision: Through teams of volunteers, equipped and supported by paid staff, we will live out our calling to reach every kid by having 120 excellent ministries by 2018.
Our Core Values: "Healthy people on healthy teams doing healthy ministry."
- Jesus Christ is central in our lives and message.
- Our ministry method is incarnational.
- All of our ministry is supported by prayer.
- The role of paid staff is to recruit, train, equip, and sustain teams of volunteers to do ministry.
- We look, think, and act multi-culturally.
- We create an environment which encourages longevity for volunteers and paid staff.
- We work responsibly in relationship with the larger church of Jesus Christ and pursue partnerships with churches and other like-minded organizations.
- We train at every level of our ministry and encourage both theological depth and creativity.

"...the root of the issues related to contemporary adolescence has to do with leaving this age group to flounder on its own; the answer is relationships with adults who sincerely care. That is the sole need of this abandoned generation." Chap Clark, Ph.D. Hurt: Inside the World of Today's Teenagers.
