Reaching Generations

Our mission as YoungLives Baltimore is to serve teenage mothers, fathers and children in the Baltimore area by responding to their spiritual, practical and relational needs through the unconditional love of Jesus Christ. We strive to provide hope for these young families throughout the overwhelming effort to raise a child while they themselves continue to grow into adulthood.

Monthly Meetings for Baltimore's Teen Parents

" I do not know how I would make it through the last week of the month if it were not for these meetings." That was what one of our young moms shared with us last month. A Friday night meeting would typically be skipped by most teens as that is "the night" to hang out. This is not the case with the young women and men we serve. We meet at the last Friday of every month at Fatih Christian Fellowship in Baltimore City.

At 6:00pm we have wonderful volunteers come in and serve an amazing meal to the young families and their mentors. After dinner we have the kids go to the nursery staffed with more than capable child care professionals. The parents have a time of fun followed by a guest speaker who is usually a local professional who has an abundance of expertise in child raising, life skills, family counseling, etc. Our final section of time we hear from a mentor in the group as they share and relate to a story from one of the Gospels. This time is a brief glimpse into they "why" of what we do in this program. Finally, the girls are given a thank you bag with a few resources and goods and then are taken home.
