Talking About What Matters to You

What is life really all about? What direction is my life headed? At Campaigners, you can ask those kinds of questions (and more!) and talk with your friends and Young Life leaders. The name Campaigners comes from a term we've kept around since the 1940s when Young Life was called the "Young Life Campaign." The Campaigners group in your area may go by a different name, but the purpose is the same: taking on life's tough questions with a group of friends and leaders you can trust.

What Happens at Campaigners?

Throughout the year we get together on Saturday nights to talk about life, who God is, and how He fits into everything. If you want to know more about what it means to be a Christian, we talk about that also. At each meeting, we usually sing some songs, play a game or watch a video, and we break up into groups and talk about how we're doing with everything. Afterwards, we might go out to eat, celebrate a birthday, or do some other fun stuff together. We often have overnight "Campaigners Getaway" trips and service projects too. So bring your questions, opinions, and an open mind. Campaigners is a great place for you to be.

Coming soon... "Campaigners One" and "Campaigners Core."

Serving the Community

In Campaigners, we're all about providing Asian kids a chance to "pay it forward," to put Christian faith into action. Several times a year we organize "Campaigners Service Projects" in which our Campaigners kids get a chance to help others in need. We partner with organizations like Habitat for Humanity, the Special Olympics, and local churches to make a difference in the lives of others. Our teenage volunteers are rewarded with community service credit hours for the work that they do along with the satisfaction that comes from knowing that they helped others.

Capernaum Camp

Every year we take folks from our Bergen County Campaigners group to Capernaum Camp, a special ministry of Young Life designed to serve kids and young adults with disabilities. In 2008, we took 25 people from Asian Young Life and from the CCCNJ youth group to this special camp. Pictures will be posted online soon, but you can see pictures from 2007 by clicking here. If you would like to join us in 2009, please visit our Capernaum Camp Information page to get an overview of what to expect.
