Life the Way It Was Meant to Be
Being an Asian teenager in America isn't always easy, especially when you face pressure from so many different sources. But there are some things to look forward to — like Asian Young Life, where you can be yourself and have some fun.
Basically, we're just ordinary people who get together every once in awhile and do some pretty amazing things. As you get to know us better, you'll see that in Asian Young Life we know how to live life to the full. Isn't that the way life was meant to be?
You Were Made For This One of the most important questions you will have to answer in your life is... What were you made for?
In Asian Young Life, we want to help teenagers answer questions like this and a whole lot more. And that's why we created Asian Young Life, a fun, sometimes crazy, but always welcome place where you and your friends can get together and be yourselves and talk about life’s deeper questions.
Several times a year we have this really cool thing on Saturday nights called club, and on other Saturday nights we meet for a group we call Campaigners. We also go to an awesome camp in the summer, we perform community service projects to help other people, and we like to hang out and do lots of adventures, like ultimate frisbee, basketball, mountain biking, Six Flags, you name it! We'd love for you to join us. Not only will you have the time of your life, but you will also get to know some pretty cool adults who really care about you. With these Asian Young Life leaders at your side, you and your friends can enjoy being teenagers and experience life in a whole new way.
Asian Young Life is a Christian missions organization that introduces Asian American teenagers to Jesus Christ and helps them to develop a Christian way of life through activities that contribute to their academic, physical, social, and spiritual growth. Not only do we want to help you learn about God, but we also want to help you in other areas of life, like doing well in school or improving your physical fitness or even getting along better with your parents and peers. Think of our leaders as mentors who are focused on ministering to the "whole you" and on helping you to become all that you were meant to be. We're currently serving Asian American young people only in Bergen and Morris counties in New Jersey, but we have dreams of developing Asian Young Life groups all around the United States one day. Until that time, if you're an Asian American high school student who lives in Bergen or Morris county, please join us. We hope that as you get more involved in Asian Young Life, you’ll discover that you were made for more than you ever imagined. You were made for a purpose... You were made for this.
