Parents and Community
Even though Young Life is especially for kids, parents and other adults in the community are important to Young Life. Adults can support Young Life in a variety of ways — by becoming a volunteer leader or committee member, by attending a Young Life fund-raising event, by hosting Young Life or by simply telling others in the community about Young Life and its commitment to kids. |

Join Our Adult Committee
Much of the "behind-the-scenes" work in Asian Young Life is done by a wonderful group of people who serve on our adult "committee." No, it's not some secret government agency; it's just a group of everyday folks who care about kids and who love Asian Young Life. Think of these people as the backbone of our ministry. They help us develop ties with local churches, they help raise money for the ministry, and they surround the Asian Young Life leaders and kids in prayer. Committee members typically get together every two months to review what's going on in the ministry and to provide assistance as needed. For more information, please be sure to visit our Committee page.
Be a Volunteer Leader
Make a difference in an Asian kid's life! Right now we are in desperate need of additional volunteer leaders, especially female leaders and Korean leaders. You do not have to quit your job to be a leader. In fact, we want you to keep your job because we want kids to see you living out your Christian faith in your normal daily life. All you need to have is a passion for Jesus Christ and a passion for kids, especially for Asian kids. We'll teach you the rest. (Oh, and if you like having fun, that would definitely be a big plus.) Your life will be richly blessed as you go about building friendships with teenagers. Please visit our Become a Volunteer Leader page for more information or send us an email, and we'll get the ball rolling for you. We'd love to have you on our team.
Make a Donation
Asian Young Life is financed entirely by donations, and this year we need to raise $85,757 to cover all of our expenses. We would love you to consider making a financial contribution to our ministry. Our primary financial need is to raise money so that we can assist kids in going to camp, but we have other needs as well. Any gift — no matter what the size — is appreciated. Please click here to make a donation. Thank you.
Serve as a Camp Physician
Are you a licensed medical physician? If so, how would you (and your family) like to spend a week at Young Life camp for FREE? During the summer, all of our camps are staffed by medical doctors who volunteer their skills for one week to provide basic medical services for kids and workers at camp. Our camp physicians are housed in beautiful adult guest lodges and are invited to participate in all of the adventures and activities of camp. Interested? Begin by checking availability* of camp physician positions. If you find a date and camp that fits into your schedule, then proceed to download an application. After completing the application, notify the Asian Young Life office, and we'll help you with the next step. One warning: Act fast! Believe it or not, but these positions fill quickly. *(Mac users: Sorry, but there are known issues using many Macintosh web browsers to check availability. Please use Microsoft Internet Explorer or Firefox to check availability of openings.)
College and Adult Camp
Every Labor Day Weekend, we take dozens of adults to an incredible weekend at Young Life's Saranac Village in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York. Our annual College and Adult Camp gives people 18 and over a chance to be a kid again and to experience Young Life from the perspective of a teenager. All the food, folks, and fun of Young Life will be there, but this time just for you! This year's getaway will take place on August 29-September 1, 2008. Don't miss this. Invite your adult friends.
Other Ways to Get Involved Perhaps you do not have the time to commit right now to being a volunteer leader but you want to help out in some other way. That's great! We can definitely still use you! Maybe you can play guitar for us at club. Perhaps you could serve as a cabin leader for a week at camp. Maybe you can edit camp videos for us. Or possibly you can drive kids to and from Campaigners meetings. Whatever gifts of service you can bring to the table, we are eager to gratefully accept. Contact us, and we'll find a place for you. |

Keeping Kids Safe
An important part of our commitment to kids is how we keep kids safe. Our leaders know they are responsible for modeling lives of hope and integrity. Young Life's Human Resources Department has developed missionwide policies and procedures to ensure that kids are protected when they are with their Asian Young Life leaders as well as when kids are part of Asian Young Life-sponsored activities. |
