Prizes for Fun Runs:  Each athlete will receive a bracelet, a medal and a bib number at a cost of $5.  Total cost is $15 if T-shirt is also desired.

Prizes for 5k:   Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd overall male and female finishers. Random prizes will also be given.  Each athlete will receive a T-shirt.  Results will be tracked for men and women according to their age group.

Early Registration: Forms and a $15 check made payable to Eastern Ottawa Young Life by Saturday, May 17 can be sent to:

Late Registration: Forms and a $20 check brought by 8:30 AM on race day.  NOTE:  A T-shirt in your size cannot be guaranteed with late registration.

Age Groups: 14 and under, 15 to 20, 21 to 30, 31 to 40, 41 and older

Cancellations/Refunds: Event directors have reserved the right to cancel the event in case of severe weather.  No refunds.

Dear Runners and Walkers:

 

We would like to extend an invitation to you to the third annual Eastern Ottawa Young Life 5K and fun run.  Last year’s race was a success, and we were able to raise approximately $3000 to help kids go to Young Life Camps.  Thank you to all who helped make this possible.  We will be meeting at the athletic stadium next to the Baldwin Street Middle School for a race that we hope will again bring out racers and their families to help raise money that will help send middle school and high school kids to Young Life camps this summer.  Please know that all proceeds will go towards scholarships for kids in our area going on Young Life camping trips.

 

The day starts off with two fun runs on the track.  The first fun run will be a quarter-mile run around the track for runners 8 and under beginning at 8:30 AM.  The second fun run will be a half-mile run around the track for ages 9 to 13 and will start soon after the first one.  At 9:15, the 5K run/walk will begin.  Official times for the 5K runners will be posted.  Times for the 5K walkers and all fun run participants will be read aloud as they cross the finish. 

 

We again plan on having plenty of volunteers to make it a great experience for everyone.  Please join us as we seek to help teenagers have “the best week of their lives” at Young Life camps.
