Making a Difference to Kids

Young Life leaders enter the world of kids everyday by going to school lunches, sporting events, musicals, or anywhere else where students might spend their time.  Through spending time with students, we "earn the right to be heard."  In other words, we build a bridge or trust and friendship with students in order to share with them the hope and fullness of life offered through Christ.  We share the story of Jesus Christ by sharing our lives and stories with students.

What Kids Are Saying about Young Life

I come to Young Life because it is a place where everyone fits in.  I was having some trouble and I was confused about my life and I needed a place where I could hang out and feel like I belonged.  Young Life is that place for me.

Young Life club is like a family to me.  We are all so close and can tell eachother everything.  Young Life makes me feel good about myself and I can forget all of the negative things that have happened that week.  My life has changed for the better!  I have changed my priorities and  put them in the right order for the first time in my life.

We Need Adults!

1. Pray for Young Life.  We believe that without prayer, our ministry will not be successful.  We need dedicated people to pray for students, leaders, and much more everyday.  If you are interested in recieving monthly prayer emails or letters please contact us.

2. Become a Volunteer Leader.  Volunteer leaders work with students from different high school or middle schools and build relationships with them.  We need volunteer leaders of all ages.

3. Become a Leader Support Member.  We have Leader Support Teams for each school who care for the volunteer leaders.  They pray for them, send them notes of encouragement, prepare meals, and spread the word about Young Life with others in the community.

4. Become a Committee Member.  The adult committee includes adults from each of the schools where ministry exists.  They meet to ensure that the quality of ministry is high.  This includes prayer, publicity, event planning, and other sub-committees such as our banquet and golf outing.

5. Taking Donors Seriously Committee (TDS).  In order for Young Life to run at its full potential, we need adults to help us meet our budget needs.  This committee works together to fund our annual budget through phone calls, brainstorming, meetings, and planning.

6. Support Young Life Financially.  It costs money for Young Life to run each year.  We would appreciate your financial gifts, which allow us to adeguately run our clubs and campaigners, as well as office supplies, leader training, and staff salaries.  You can learn more about our budget by contacting our office.
