Club in Morris County

We are not planning to have club in Morris County this 2007-08 school year. We need to recruit additional adult leaders and helpers. If you are an adult and would like to assist us, please visit our Parents and Community page.

Club Memories

"Club" is the name Asian Young Life gives to its outreach meetings. Club typically consists of dozens of Asian American kids enjoying delicious food, good music, crazy skits, fun games, and an inspiring message about life—or as we phrase it—"We eat. We sing. We laugh. We listen. We win."

We held our first-ever club in Morris County in November 2006 at the home of one of our teenage participants from East Hanover. We were hoping and praying that at least 70 people would show up. To our our unexpected (and pleasant) surprise, more than 130 people came to our first-ever Morris County club. Yes, it was a tad crowded and a little hot, but the response was unbelievable. The kids that night and at two subsequent Morris County club meetings that school year got to experience a concept in Asian Young Life that we call "excellence in ministry." Basically, our adult volunteer leaders in Morris County went above and beyond to serve kids and share with them God's love in a very tangible and memorable way.

Below is the video that started it all... In typical Asian Young Life fashion, high school kid George Xie ran through Morris County dressed as a giant hot dog in search of Morris County's brand new Asian Young Life club.

(If you do not see the video below, click here to see the video directly in YouTube.)

For those of you got to experience club in Morris County, we hope you have nothing but good memories of Dan and Sophia Lo as Napoleon Dynamite and Zoolander ("What is this... a camp for ants?"), Mike Chen leading the Asian Young Life minutes, Tim Lo as Slim Jim, Tony Lin giving away iPods and the Nintendo Wii, throwing glow rings around the Grange at CCCNJ, cool music, the Chinese New Year club, the beach party club, and Tim Lo's relevant messages that we hope gave you a new perspective on life.

The best is yet to come. We will start club again in Morris County. If you are an adult who would like to help us do this, please join us as a volunteer leader.

What Happens at Club

Hang out with your friends. Laugh. Club is just for you. It's where you can be yourself, have a good time and check out who God is and what He is like.
