A Young Life or WyldLife leader's main role is to build relationships with high school or middle school students, providing them with positive role models and sharing their lives. Leaders walk alongside students as they navigate the ups and downs of life and model faith lived out in the real world. Young Life leaders participate in and lead weekly Club meetings, but Contact Work, going after kids on their own turf, is the most important part of their job. Contact Work might mean going to high school or middle school football games, soccer practice, orchestra concerts, or the mall - anywhere kids are - to intentionally meet new kids or invest in those you already know.
All new leaders are required to go through YL Leadership Training, and are placed on a club team with experienced leaders.
There is no age limit to being a Young Life leader; adolescents need caring adults in their lives and they respond to being cared for, regardless of the age of the leader. Mature high school Juniors and Seniors are eligible to become WyldLife leaders. Contact the office to find out more.
