Testimony
I grew up in a Christian home with two very loving parents. Growing up, if you would have asked me if I were a Christian, I would have said yes. I believed in Christ, but something was missing. In high school, I was in a performance based mode where I got involved in just about every activity I could become involved with at school. On top of this, I was swimming year round, clocking in an average of 30 hours a week at the pool. I barely had time to breathe, and I began filling my life with just about every activity that I could. I was the true definition of the adrenaline junkie. I was extremely close to my year round swim coach. I had been a freshman in college for about 5 weeks, when I first received news that my coach had been killed in a car accident. This was my first experience with death, and I had a hard time making sense of it. I started asking a lot of questions, and I knew there had to be more to life. I got involved with Crossroads, a student-led Christian ministry at the University of Georgia. It was my freshman year after attending a conference with college kids from all over the SEC that I knew I desired to know God in a more intimate way. My life has not been easy since my decision to follow Christ, but it has been during these times of brokenness where the Lord has truly revealed himself to me.
Favorite Scripture
"God can do anything, you know...far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us." EPHESIANS 3:20 (The Message)
Favorite Quotes
"I thanked the Lord for 3 things; fried chicken, potato salad, and for the fact that He allowed me the priveledge of being a Georgia Bulldog. 'And, Dear Lord,' I prayed, 'Bless all those not as fortunate as I.'" -LEWIS GRIZZARD
"To be nobody but myself - in a world which is doing it's best, night and day, to make you everybody else - means to fight the hardest battle any human can fight, and never stop fighting."
-E.E.CUMMINGS
