I grew up knowing about God and learning that everyone has their own ways of practicing and finding their faith.  I grew up praying and having a very basic relationship with Him that grew into something more when I was in middle school.  I first found out about Young Life around then when I started attending a small Bible Study with one of the leaders and a few friends.  It was during that time that I started to ask questions and explore my faith in a deeper way.  I found myself feeling comfort in Him and walking around with a better outlook on everything.  As I got older and started to experience more independence I started pulling away and testing the waters; I figured that if I "believed" He would always be there for me.  During all this I got really sick and experienced some of the hardest times I think I will ever encounter; this shook my faith even more.  I began to find it easier to just not believe in anything at all.  After coming close to death on a few occasions I realized that something was keeping me going, someone was watching out for me.  Through all my questions and doubting I constantly felt a tugging on my heart and I believe that it was Him whispering for me to come back.  It has been through the support and courage of a wonderful family, friends and the amazing people involved with Young Life that I have learned even more about what He is all about.  I feel His arms around me and even when things get tough I know that all I have to do is pray, listen and hug Him back.  I am ALIVE by the grace of God and I am so glad to be able to serve Him and our community through Young Life!
