What is Committee?

Each local area has a committee of adults who believes in the mission of Young Life: to introduce adolescents to Jesus Christ and to help them grow in their faith. You'll find adults from all different backgrounds, careers and churches, including lots of moms and dads who care about kids.

The committee, comprised of parents, Young Life alumni and civic leaders, provides a foundation of financial, administrative and moral support for the local Young Life team.

Ask your area staff person for a local list, and feel free to call these folks with your questions at any time.

An Essential Foundation

Committee is the foundation for Young Life in a local area. Oftentimes, new Young Life clubs start because of the interest and awareness created by the committee. We also welcome the involvement of adult Young Life alumni, whose enthusiasm about their Young Life experiences is valuable to a committee.

Committee Responsibilities

Prayer

The most important thing our committee does is to pray for the work of Young Life and WyldLife in our area. Without their consistent efforts to bring the kids, leaders and staff before God, nothing would be accomplished.

Promotion

Getting the word out is a probably the largest endeavor that the committee undertakes each year. With all that is going on with Young Life of Ramapo Valley, we need all the help we can get spreading the word. From newsletters to informational meetings, the committee is busy year round promoting.

Provision

The supporters of Young Life and especially those on the committee are some of the most generous and loving members of the local community. They relish the opportunity to provide for the kids, leaders, staff and community in various ways.

Planning

Getting Young Life moving takes a lot of planning and organization. The committee helps out by giving advice to the leaders and staff, being present at kids' events and planning events for adults.
