Making a Difference to Kids

Young Life is active in various high schools and middle schools in Southern Gwinnett. Young Life is making a difference in kids' lives. Here's an example of how Young Life is reaching kids:
John regularly attends basketball practice at the high school where he is a Young Life leader. At first, John did not know the guys on the basketball team, but after weeks of watching practice he began to get to know who they were and exchanged a few short conversations with some of the players. One day, one of the players approached John. "You come to watch us practice a lot don't you?" the young man asked John. "Yes, I do," John said. "That's cool," the young man said. "No one does that."

Where we want to be...

It is our goal to have staff and volunteer leaders at every school in Southern Gwinnett. We are committed to finding loving adults who are willing to walk with adolescents during these difficult years. We desire to grow, however we are limited by our financial capability as well as our committee support.

Before a Young Life staff person can be placed in a new school, we need a few parents or adults who are committed to seeing the ministry succeed. Their presence, prayer and support can make all the difference when a staff person brings Young Life or WyldLife to a new community.

Gwinnett is Growing...

As I'm sure many of you have heard, Gwinnett County is in the process of building a number of new high schools and middle schools over the next 5 years.

Please pray for us as we do what we can to ensure that every kid has a chance to be loved by a caring adult and also hear about who Jesus is and what he has to do with them today. Please pray for our constant need for more staff, volunteers, and committee members who are willing to go to where kids are.
