The Three Year County Vision
The vision for Young Life in San Luis Obispo County is simple- Introduce teenagers to Jesus Christ and help them grow in their faith. Jim Rayburn, the founder of Young Life, described it as, "A group of people committed to the idea of winning a hearing with kids for the greatest story ever told."
WE PLAN TO START THREE MORE CLUBS IN THREE YEARS
Templeton High School
North County Capernaum Club (For Kids w/Disabilities)
Laguna Middle School
OUR VISION IS LASTING GROWTH We want the Clubs we start tomorrow to still be thriving in ten years.
OUR TARGET IS HIGH SCHOOL MINISTRY We believe our best chance to reach the most kids means reaching them before 'real' life takes it's toll. In addition, WyldLife Clubs serve to launch and bolster the high school clubs into which they feed.
OUR NEED IS COMMITTED CHRISTIAN ADULTS We cannot successfully reach a school without adults who are committed to praying for the ministry, supporting the ministry financially, working on the Young Life Committee or the Leadership Team for that school.
OUR CHALLENGE IS UNENDING There are more than 16,000 teenagers in 15 high schools and middle schools in San Luis County. There is no time to waste in reaching each and every one of them with the life changing news of Jesus Christ. Nearly 2,000 kids graduate from our sphere of influence each year in the County. With that in mind our goal is nothing less than to love and share our lives with every single kid in San Luis Obispo County. |
