Parents and Community

Even though Young Life is especially for kids, parents and other adults in the community are important to Young Life. Adults can support Young Life in a variety of ways — by becoming a volunteer leader or committee member, by attending a Young Life fund-raising event, by hosting Young Life or by simply telling others in the community about Young Life and its commitment to kids.

16,000 Voices...Is Anybody Listening?

If you are reading this chances are you are an adult who cares about kids. If this is true, we bet you're looking for some good news. Young Life in San Luis Obispo County is good news for teenagers.

We treat kids like kings and queens. We demand excellence of ourselves in all things because we want every kid to walk away from every contact with Young Life feeling cared for and important. That is why we put so much effort into our weekly Club meetings. That is why our Summer Camps are some of the finest in the nation. And that is why we train our volunteer leaders to be experts in youth culture and exemplary models of Christ in the lives of kids.

We make San Luis County a safer place. Kids today swim in a fast current. They are facing the rapid time of adolescence and the current of a culture that sometimes moves to fast and threatens to pull them under. But kids in San Luis County find a safe haven in Young Life. Our incredible volunteers strive to stand firm in the swift current- assisting kids through rough waters to help bring them safely to the other side. We purposely put ourselves in the paths of kids- and we've been doing this nation wide for over 60 years.
