Each local area has a committee of adults who believes in the mission of Young Life: to introduce adolescents to Jesus Christ and to help them grow in their faith. You'll find adults from all different backgrounds, careers and churches, including lots of moms and dads who care about kids.

The committee, comprised of parents, Young Life alumni and civic leaders, provides a foundation of financial, administrative and moral support for the local Young Life team.

Ask your area staff person for a local list, and feel free to call these folks with your questions at any time.

YL Syracuse East and Urban has so many great people that help make YL effective and healthy.  Our adults give time and effort behind the scenes to make our organization work.  Here's an example of what Committee people do:

• support and encourage our Leaders that work with kids
• provide logistical support for special events
• answer parent's questions and network around town
• make sure that YL is on solid financial footing
• help kids fundraise for YL camps in the Fall and Summer

Most of all, our adults give out of a sense of mission and friendship.  Our relationships with each other are central to what we do.

Over and above all the behind the scenes work, YL adults pray for kids and for our leaders.  It's the most important work they do!

• Serve on a local Committee that works with local schools
• Serve on the Urban Board that supports our Inner City work
• Serve on the Golf Committee that puts on our Tournament
• Serve on the YL Area Committee that oversees the whole big picture
