Young Life is active in various high schools in the area, and is making a difference in kids' lives. Here's an example of how Young Life reaches kids: Chris regularly showed up at both football and band practices at Central in the fall.  Sometimes he'd be able to hang out with and get to know some of the guys, sometimes not.  In August he got a call from a kid he didn't know.  "Hey, this is Walter, and I hear you Young Life guys play Ultimate Frisbee on Thursdays, but us folks in band can't play then, so I was wondering if you'd want to come play with us on Mondays?"  After saying "Sure, I'd love to, where do you play?", Walter replied "On the band practice fields, but you know where that is.  You were out there watching yesterday, weren't you?" 

Sometimes without the leaders even realizing it, they impact kids by just showing up.  Our goal is to earn the right to be heard after developing a friendship with them.   Whether or not they ever come to a Young Life event like Club or camp, we strive to share the love of God with them.
